Traditional Reiki
First Degree

After initiation into the first degree of Reiki, the healer undergoes an initial tuning to the Reiki channel and gains the ability to:

Perform hands-on sessions for oneself and others.
Harmonize emotional states for oneself and others.
Cleanse and energize water, food, objects, medications, etc., with Reiki energy.

Following initiation into the first degree, there is an amplification of sensitivity, self-understanding, understanding of the surrounding world, intuition, and the development of creative abilities. Unexpected changes occur in life, and life begins to take on new colors. The more a person works with Reiki and provides sessions to others, the more powerful the flow of Reiki becomes through them.

At the beginning of each Traditional Reiki session, it's important to conduct a tuning – focusing attention and energy on the goal for which you are invoking the Energy.

This is akin to working with physical light – it always surrounds us in scattered form. But take a magnifying glass and focus sunlight in one place, and its power becomes such that it can even ignite paper. The same happens with our thoughts and desires: dozens of thoughts are simultaneously present in our minds. By clearly realizing and expressing your intention, you direct Reiki to where it needs to flow and what it needs to work on. This gives the session greater power. Remember, the more vague the request you send, the more vague the Energy itself works.
